Meet The Hauser Family!

I am Taylor Hauser  and I run Hauser's Homestead along with my husband Jason and my sons Jaxon and Jaylen- My love for livestock runs deep—rooted in childhood days spent on my grandparents’ small dairy farm. If I wasn’t outside building forts or playing with calves, I was inside creating my own little ranches with toy barns and animals. Even as a little girl, I dreamed of one day having a farm of my own—and raising my own family on it.
Fast forward a couple decades, and that dream is now a reality—shared with my husband, Jason, and our two little boys, Jaxon and Jaylen. Jason has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. In 2018, we bought a small old-school diner, and by 2019 we welcomed our first son. The restaurant lifestyle wasn’t what we wanted long-term for our growing family, so we shifted gears—selling the diner, purchasing a gas station, and eventually, in 2023, taking a leap of faith and buying Heritage Seed & Feed in our small town of Crawford, Nebraska.
I’ve always had a deep love for animals. Before we started the ranch, I raised Australian Shepherds for nearly a decade. That passion has only grown, especially as we’ve expanded our herd and built our livestock program from the ground up.
It all started with a few miniature donkeys, some pygmy and Nigerian Dwarf goats, and one little Kunekune pig. Then one day at an auction, a dun Highland bull caught Jason’s eye—and when that bull walked through the ring, he couldn’t resist. From there, the herd began to grow. A few heifers turned into dozens, and our passion for Highlands and Highpark cattle took off—especially after purchasing a chondro-positive Highpark bull that truly changed the direction of our program. That’s when we really got into the miniatures and set our sights on building a well-put-together miniature program that we can be proud of.
The animals didn’t stop there. We now have 15 little mini goats and still four Kunekune pigs—which drive Jason absolutely crazy. But truth be told, not much is cuter than baby goats bouncing around while two little boys run after them, giggling and barefoot in the dirt.
Now, we’ve grown from just a handful of cows and donkeys to nearly 60 head and a thriving herd of sweet, people-loving miniature donkeys. The donkeys truly have my heart. There’s something peaceful and therapeutic about them. They adore our boys, and the bond they share is one of the greatest joys of our lives.
I truly believe God has blessed us immensely—with our family, our businesses, our animals, and the life we get to live. I’m incredibly grateful for Jason—he’s believed in my dream from the very beginning and poured so much into making it a reality. Ranching wasn’t the path he imagined for himself, but he’s fully embraced it. Owning the seed and feed store may have started as a way to support me, but (even if he hides it) he loves it too. His dedication to our family and this lifestyle is something I’ll never take for granted.
This ranch is the fulfillment of my childhood dream—and more importantly, the opportunity to raise our children with the same values I was blessed with: hard work, responsibility, and the simple joy of farm life. Together, our family is committed to raising sound, beautiful Highland and Highland-cross cattle and the kindest little donkeys you’ll ever meet. We stand behind every animal we raise, just like we do with all of our businesses—with honesty, care, and pride.
Welcome to our little piece of paradise.
